PGZ Signs Babcock Strategic Pact, Fincantieri MoU at MSPO

The move deepens Poland’s push to link domestic shipbuilding with lifecycle support, with potential submarine procurement in view.

Overview

  • Babcock and PGZ signed a strategic cooperation agreement to expand collaboration across sea and air domains at the MSPO exhibition in Kielce.
  • The pact covers joint design, construction, repair and servicing of naval platforms, sustainment of military aircraft, and development of asset‑management solutions for the armed forces.
  • Babcock already supports PGZ on the Arrowhead 140‑based Miecznik frigates under a contract extended through completion of the third ship in 2031.
  • PGZ separately signed an MoU with Fincantieri to explore cooperation on advanced naval platforms with a focus on the Orka submarine project.
  • Executives from Babcock and PGZ framed the agreements as milestones that strengthen Poland’s forces and NATO posture, as Babcock maintains operations in Gdynia and Warsaw and Poland advances construction of its Miecznik fleet.
