- PG&E said a contractor struck a 2-inch gas line during excavation shortly after 9 a.m.
- Crews isolated and secured the leak within about 20 minutes of arriving, and officials said it was capped just before 11 a.m.
- Evacuations covered the area south of Edith, east of Foothill, north of Main and west of Second, and the public was urged to stay away until an all-clear.
- PG&E estimated repairs would wrap up in the early afternoon as firefighters and police managed the perimeter.
