PGA Tour Reinstates Brooks Koepka Under One-Time Return Program

A one-time pathway with heavy penalties governs the return of elite LIV defectors.

Overview

  • Koepka is slated to play the Farmers Insurance Open from Jan. 29–Feb. 1 and the WM Phoenix Open the following week, his first regular PGA Tour starts since 2022.
  • His terms include a $5 million charitable donation, a five-year exclusion from the Player Equity Program, and no 2026 FedEx Cup bonus eligibility, with the Tour estimating $50–$85 million in potential forfeited earnings.
  • He is eligible for The Players and full-field events but must qualify for signature events via the Aon Next 10 or Swing 5, a win, or a top-30 OWGR position, with no sponsor exemptions permitted.
  • The Tour says fields will expand so current members do not lose starts, and any returning player who qualifies for the FedEx Cup Playoffs will be added without displacing others.
  • Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith also meet the criteria to apply by Feb. 2, and returning members must commit to at least 15 approved events in 2026.
