PFL Overhauls Titles, Sets Nemkov–Ferreira and Cyborg–Collins for Lyon on Dec. 13

The move ends years of overlapping belts by replacing tournaments and legacy titles with a single undisputed champion per division.

Overview

  • New CEO John Martin introduced a “one champion, one division” model that retires the patchwork of season winners, Bellator carryover belts and Super Fight labels.
  • The PFL heavyweight world title is vacant, and Vadim Nemkov vs. Renan Ferreira in Lyon will determine the champion on Dec. 13.
  • Cris Cyborg faces Sara Collins for the rebranded women’s featherweight championship in her return to MMA.
  • The LDLC Arena event will also stage the 2025 PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight finals.
  • Martin said he will consult Francis Ngannou on his next steps, clarifying that Ngannou’s 2024 Super Fights belt is a separate, special-event designation outside the new title lineage.
