Overview

  • The A42 between Bottrop-Süd and Essen-Nord is closed from June 6 at 10 p.m. to June 16 at 5 a.m. for Evonik’s pipeline bridge construction and Autobahn Westfalen maintenance, with traffic rerouted via the A2.
  • The ADAC predicts the heaviest jams will form on the A7 Elbtunnel and Norderelbbrücke, the A1 Ostumfahrung Hamburg and coastal routes to the North and Baltic seas on Friday afternoon.
  • The start of two-week school holidays in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria is expected to funnel additional vehicles onto the highways.
  • Deutsche Bahn warns of overcrowding on long-distance and regional trains at the weekend peak and notes that line work between Regensburg and Hof will disrupt services from June 15 to August 22.
  • Airports in Munich and Nuremberg are preparing for a surge in passengers, with more than 410 000 flyers expected at Munich Airport on Friday and over 2.3 million across the holiday period.
