Overview
- Petrobras said ISCC issued the certification in October after Brazil’s ANP authorized SAF coprocessing at Reduc in May.
- The refinery plans to produce up to 50,000 m³ of sustainable aviation fuel per month, with output expected to begin in the coming months.
- Under its current ANP approval, Reduc may incorporate up to 1.2% renewable feedstock in the HEFA coprocessing stream.
- HEFA-derived SAF can be blended directly with conventional jet fuel without modifications to aircraft or fueling infrastructure.
- The move advances compliance with Brazil’s Fuel of the Future law and ICAO’s CORSIA regime starting in 2027, and Petrobras said its Revap refinery is running parallel tests.
