The petition, signed by over 18,000 people, criticizes the inclusion of non-binary and transgender performers in the parade, accusing it of promoting the 'liberal LGBTQ agenda'.
The performers in question include Justin David Sullivan, a non-binary performer from the Broadway musical '& Juliet', and Alex Newell, a gender-nonconforming performer from the Broadway musical 'Shucked'.
The petition argues that Macy's is not considering the best interests of children and that trust in the company has been lost.
This is not the first time the Macy's parade has included LGBTQ+ performers; in 2021, singer Kim Petras became the first transgender star to perform in the parade.
