Peter Gabriel Unveils Surprise Album 'o/i,' Launches Full-Moon Song Cycle With 'Been Undone'

Gabriel casts the project as a response to looming shifts in AI, quantum computing, brain–computer links.

Overview

  • Gabriel released the first track, Been Undone, at the full moon as a Dark-Side mix by Tchad Blake.
  • He plans to issue one new song at each full moon through 2026, with the full album due by year’s end and more release details to come.
  • Each song on o/i will appear in paired Dark-Side and Bright-Side mixes, with Mark ‘Spike’ Stent handling the Bright-Side versions and new-moon arrivals stated for those mixes.
  • Every track will be accompanied by artwork, starting with Ciclotrama 156 (Palindrome) by São Paulo–based artist Janaina Mello Landini.
  • The new single was written and produced by Gabriel at Real World Studios in Bath and The Beehive in London, and some songs will feed into his ongoing brain project.
