Petaluma Man Arrested in DUI Incident That Killed 3-Year-Old on Private Property

William Medrano, 64, faces charges of DUI causing death and vehicular manslaughter after toddler Ian De Jesus was fatally struck by a Bobcat trailer.

Three-year-old Ian De Jesus was killed Sunday afternoon after being struck by a Bobcat trailer on private property near Skillman Lane in Petaluma.
The California Highway Patrol identified the trailer operator as William Medrano, 64, of Rohnert Park, who showed signs of intoxication at the scene.
Medrano was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on charges of DUI causing death or injury and vehicular manslaughter.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene after reportedly running into the field where the Bobcat trailer was operating.
Legal proceedings for Medrano are scheduled to begin Tuesday as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
