Peru’s Indecopi Flags Belkin Devices and 969 KTM/Husqvarna Motorcycles for Fire Risks

The regulator directs affected owners to refunds or repairs through official recall contacts.

Overview

  • Indecopi publicized Belkin’s voluntary withdrawal of two products over overheating that could cause fires: the BoostCharge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K (model BPB002) and the Auto-Tracking Stand Pro (model MMA008).
  • Belkin’s power bank was manufactured in China from May 2020 to December 2024, and the wireless charging stand in Vietnam from November 2023 to June 2024, following reports of internal component or battery cell failures.
  • Consumers are told to stop using the affected Belkin items and request refunds directly via notices@belkin.com or the company recall form shared by Indecopi.
  • La República reports affected counts of 194 power banks and 62 wireless charging stands tied to the Belkin withdrawal.
  • In a separate alert, Indecopi said 969 KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles may have cracked fuel-tank cap joints that could lead to leaks and fire, advising owners to suspend use pending repairs and providing contact details and the Sistema de Alertas de Consumo for incident reports.
