Overview
- Shipments totaled US$177 million in January–September 2025, down from US$240 million a year earlier, according to ADEX.
- Traditional goods rose 3.3% to US$78.3 million on higher copper, tin and fishmeal, while non-traditional exports fell 39.9% to US$98.7 million.
- Agroindustry led non-traditional sales at US$65.4 million yet contracted 52.2% and still represented 37% of total exports, driven by grapes, blueberries and avocados.
- The trade agreement signed on November 15, 2024, covers 14 chapters and, ADEX says, would remove tariffs, permit services exports without local presence and draw Hong Kong investment.
- Hong Kong ranked 14th for Peru’s value-added exports in 2024 with a 1.5% share, and Peru recorded a US$158.2 million trade surplus with the territory in the first nine months of 2025.
