Officials say the results will guide policy, with Argentina set to publish a consolidated national report next year.

Overview

  • Peru’s Ministry of Education is administering ENLA from Nov. 11–13 across 8,700 schools, reaching more than 200,000 students.
  • ENLA targets grade 4 primary (reading, mathematics), grade 2 secondary (reading, mathematics, science and technology), and grade 5 secondary (those plus personal development, citizenship and civics).
  • Secondary students in grades 2 and 5 will also take socioemotional skills tests, and associated questionnaires will be completed by teachers, principals, families and students to contextualize results.
  • The Office for Measurement of Learning Quality adapted instruments to ensure participation of students with disabilities and is piloting sixth-grade intercultural bilingual tools to validate future instruments.
  • Argentina will assess more than 750,000 sixth-graders on Nov. 12 in language and mathematics through a nationwide, anonymous census with contextual surveys, with provincial and socioeconomic indicators to be released in next year’s report.
