Overview
- The National Jury of Elections declared a permanent session under Resolution No. 0821-2025-JNE to keep procedures running on weekends and holidays.
- Exceptional working days were set for Dec. 26–28, 2025 and Jan. 2–4, 10–11, and 17, 2026 to avoid holiday slowdowns.
- The government enacted Law No. 32536 to let party members who joined between Oct. 8, 2024 and Oct. 7, 2025 run in the 2026 regional and municipal elections.
- The law requires immediate regulatory action by the JNE, ONPE and RENIEC to apply the extended affiliation window.
- The JNE reports 1,748 lists filed, including 36 presidential formulas registered through Declara+, now under JEE review with a tacha period and final approvals due by March 14, 2026.
