Overview
- The Banco Central de Reserva confirmed the revised 200-soles banknote entered circulation in February 2026.
- The security thread is now 5 mm wide, up from 4 mm, and displays blue and green for clearer identification.
- The thread’s synchronized motion effect becomes apparent when the note is slightly tilted, enabling quick checks without special equipment.
- New and existing 200-soles notes will circulate together and both remain fully valid for all transactions.
- All other features from the 2021 De La Rue series are unchanged, including the Tilsa Tsuchiya watermark, Spark Live ink, UV elements, tactile relief, and reverse motifs of the spatule-tailed hummingbird and amancaes.
