Peru Team Wins Technologies Title at World School Science and Technology Fair in Chile

  • Alejandro Aduvire Reyes and Tian Taya Joo of Colegio Cristo Rey (Tacna) triumphed at the Mundial Escolar de Ciencia y Tecnología 2025 held in Valparaíso from October 13 to 19.
  • Their prototype, AbeditoPulse, uses Internet of Things sensors to monitor the heart rate of older adults.
  • The team captured first place in the Technologies category and posted the event’s second-highest overall score among roughly 70 international projects.
  • The result accredited the students to represent Peru at the Mundial de Ciencias scheduled for Colombia in 2026.
  • Concytec nominated the Tacna team based on their EUREKA 2024 performance, while Peru’s delegation also saw COAR Ica’s Johan Canelo win Social Sciences gold and COAR Lambayeque earn honorable mentions.
