- Decree No. 001-2026-PCM, published in El Peruano and signed by President José Enrique Jerí Oré and Prime Minister Ernesto Álvarez Miranda, formalizes the subnational vote.
- Voters will choose regional governors and vice governors, regional councilors, as well as provincial and district mayors and councilors nationwide, including the Constitutional Province of Callao.
- The call complies with constitutional and electoral laws requiring at least 270 days’ notice, with current regional and municipal terms ending on December 31, 2026.
