Peru Sets January Payout Dates for S/400 School Bonus as Teacher Pay Scale Takes Effect

Deposits will post automatically via Banco de la Nación under the MEF’s official calendar.

Overview

  • The S/400 school bonus is confirmed for public-sector workers and State pensioners covered by the 2026 budget, including personnel under DL 276, the Reform Magisterial law, university faculty, health staff, Armed Forces and Police, and public workers under the private regime.
  • Most entities will receive deposits between January 21 and 26 according to the MEF schedule published in El Peruano, while pensioners follow a separate mid‑January calendar.
  • Teachers hired under Law 29944 and education auxiliaries will receive the school bonus with the June 2026 payroll, not in January.
  • The school bonus is a one‑time, non‑remunerative payment and is not subject to pension or social‑security deductions, per the MEF.
  • From January, the Education Ministry’s updated teacher pay scale is in force, lifting monthly salaries roughly from S/3,500 to S/9,801 depending on scale and 30/40‑hour workload, with over S/175 million transferred to fund the first tranche.
