Peru Sets Jan. 21–26 Payouts for S/400 Schooling Bonus as Bank Releases Sector Schedule

Most eligible public workers will receive the benefit with January payroll, with contracted teachers and education assistants deferred to June pending regulation.

Overview

  • Banco de la Nación confirmed a staggered deposit schedule from Wednesday, January 21, through Monday, January 26, aligned to each ministry and public entity.
  • The S/400 payment, included in the 2026 public budget, covers workers under DL 276, Laws 29944 and 30512, university faculty under Law 30220, health staff under DL 1153, public-sector laborers, Armed Forces and PNP, and qualifying state pensioners.
  • Eligibility requires being on the payroll at the norm’s effective date or on paid leave or specified subsidies, with at least three months of service or a proportional amount if under that tenure.
  • The benefit is not restricted to parents and is granted regardless of whether the recipient has children in school, according to guidance cited by labor representatives and MEF rules reported by media.
  • A separate exceptional S/100 payment from the centralized collective agreement is non-remunerative and requires prior registration in the MEF AIRHSP system by June 30, 2025, to appear on beneficiary lists.
