Overview
- ONPE held the first nationwide in‑person training for members of mesa on Sunday, September 20, enabling about 4,246 local sites and training more than 142,000 citizens in installation, voting and scrutineering procedures.
- The ONPE has active online services, including consultaelectoral.onpe.gob.pe and ONPEduca, where citizens can check polling locations, confirm if they are members of mesa and download credentials and training materials.
- The Government published Decreto Supremo N.º 014-2026-TR to ease participation by granting voters who vote away from home up to four days off if they prove they voted and by defining paid rest rules for poll workers.
- Members of mesa who complete training and serve will receive S/165 and a non‑compensable paid rest day, while those who serve without prior training receive a compensable rest day with hours to be recovered under the decree.
- Electoral bodies have also posted the legally required 'cartel de candidatos' from September 19, scheduled televised mayoral debates in Lima for September 21–22 and begun shipping ballots and manuals from ONPE warehouses toward regional ODPEs.
