Overview
- Resolution SBS No. 00704-2026, published today in El Peruano, updates the rules for simplified electronic-money accounts and basic accounts.
- The new ceilings are set at 0.6 UIT per transaction (S/3,300), 1.9 UIT for a consolidated balance per issuer (S/10,450), and 2.8 UIT for total monthly operations (S/15,400).
- The rule also caps monthly conversions to electronic money at 1.9 UIT per user within the same issuer.
- The reform replaces fixed-soles and minimum-wage-based thresholds with UIT-based limits that adjust as the UIT is updated each year.
- Wallet providers such as Yape, Plin, and Tunki must define user-level limits within these ceilings, so the higher caps will not apply automatically to every account.
