Overview

- Early on September 20, a magnitude 4.0 event was recorded in Huancavelica at 02:29, with an epicenter 14 km southwest of Colcabamba at 103 km depth.
- Later that morning, a magnitude 4.3 quake occurred in Amazonas at 07:46, centered 148 km north of Santa María de Nieva at 97 km depth, with intensity II–III reported locally.
- Local authorities and the IGP reported no injuries or material damage from the recent earthquakes.
- The national seismic service continues real-time monitoring and reiterates that quake timing cannot be predicted but consequences can be reduced through safe construction and prevention.
