Peru Prosecutors Seek 36 Months of Preventive Detention for Erick ‘El Monstruo’ Moreno and 16 Others

The request follows the launch of a preparatory probe into a 43-person alleged extortion network under Judge Wilson Verástegui.

  • The probe names 43 suspects, including Jeff Hidalgo identified as a lieutenant and Claren Bados identified as a cashier within the alleged structure.
  • Moreno was arrested in San Lorenzo, Paraguay, on September 25 in a joint operation, and a Paraguayan judge authorized his extradition to Peru on November 18.
