Overview
- ONPE will air the state-funded franja electoral from November 15 to 27 for 38 political groups, with the largest share of spending directed to social media (about S/1.94 million), followed by television and radio.
- From November 23 to December 14, voters can use ONPE’s Elige tu local de votación to pick up to three polling places near the address on their DNI, limited to the district recorded as of the October 14 electoral roll cutoff.
- The First Constitutional Chamber of Lima rejected the JNE’s request to suspend proceedings in the Unidad Popular registration case, allowing the judicial process related to the party led by Duberlí Rodríguez to continue.
- The JNE filed a criminal complaint against the chamber’s magistrates and its president Roberto Burneo said the body will not allow interference in the electoral process, reiterating the JNE’s independence.
- Burneo warned that candidacies with legal impediments could be struck during the December 23–March 14 qualification window and said the 2026 elections risk disruption without additional funding now being sought, as citizen groups also mobilize to press the JNJ to comply with a court order reinstating Delia Espinoza as fiscal de la Nación.
