Peru Police Raid Alleged Tren de Aragua 'Bunker' Disguised as Restaurant in Lima

Detainees remain in custody pending analysis of weapons, explosives plus phone media for extortion evidence.

Overview

  • The PNP raided a property on the second block of Avenida Los Jardines in San Juan de Lurigancho that operated under the façade of the restaurant El Tayta.
  • More than 30 people were detained, mostly Venezuelan nationals, along with Peruvians, a Colombian, plus three minors.
  • Police seized firearms, assorted ammunition and explosive devices, and recovered phone photos and videos showing rifles, pistols and explosives.
  • Investigators say the site functioned as a clandestine meeting point for Tren de Aragua factions, with private parties used to coordinate extortion or attacks and to indoctrinate minors.
