Peru Police Arrest 'Boby' in Lince, Fugitive Gang Figure With Two Life Sentences

Police say a months-long probe disrupted extortion networks tied to construction rackets.

Overview

  • Dirincri detained Erick Pascual García, alias “Boby,” on Oct. 22 on Av. Bartolomé Herrera in Lince as he traveled in a vehicle, with no shots fired.
  • A Ventanilla court had imposed two life terms for kidnappings and contract killings, plus a separate 15-year sentence for belonging to a criminal organization.
  • Investigators link him to Los Michis as a leader and to Los Diablos and Los Sanguinarios del Norte, groups accused of extortion, kidnappings and murders in Lima Norte between 2018 and 2021.
  • A search of his residence in Carabayllo recovered a handgun with the serial number erased and 19 rounds of ammunition that will undergo ballistic testing.
  • Police say he evaded capture using a false DNI under the name Carlos Alonso Luna Cotrina, and they are pursuing additional suspects connected to these networks.
