Peru Oil Output Up 14% in October as Loreto and Piura Fields Drive a Tentative Rebound

SPH warns the uptick remains fragile due to unresolved conflicts in the Amazon.

Overview

  • National crude production reached 42,420 barrels per day in October 2025, a 14% year‑over‑year increase, according to SPH citing Perupetro data.
  • Lote 95 in Loreto led oil output with 14.15 thousand bpd, followed by Lote X in Piura with 8.30 thousand bpd and Lote Z‑69 in Piura with 3.17 thousand bpd.
  • Natural gas volumes slipped to 1,346 MMPCD in October from 1,484 MMPCD in September and were down about 2% from a year earlier, with SPH pointing to scheduled maintenance and softer domestic demand.
  • Camisea assets in Cusco remained the core gas suppliers, with Lote 88 producing 783 MMPCD, Lote 56 at 254 MMPCD and Lote 57 at 243 MMPCD.
  • Strategic lots such as Lote 67 and Lote 8 in Loreto reported no production, and SPH urged state‑community‑industry dialogue to resolve conflicts, spur exploration investment and upgrade transport infrastructure.
