- The Defense Ministry began moving forces on Wednesday as part of a security operation that will place about 41,000 military personnel at polling locations and guard electoral material through October 6.
- The Education Ministry has put 10,728 public and private schools at the exclusive disposal of the electoral office to serve as voting centers, a handover arranged in the days before the vote.

- Electoral bodies accredited 40 international and regional observers to monitor the process and the JEE of Lima has opened an inquiry into Foreign Minister Carlos Espá for a possible breach of neutrality rules; members of polling tables will receive S/165 and must arrive at 6:00 a.m. to install tables for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
