Peru Logs M5.3 Near Marcona as Two Smaller Quakes Strike Arequipa and Lima

  • Lima recorded a magnitude 3.6 at 4:52 p.m. with an epicenter 28 km north of Chilca, Cañete, at 49 km depth, according to the national seismic service.
  • Authorities reported no damage in initial assessments, while Indeci reiterated preparedness guidance and the Red Sísmica Nacional continued routine monitoring.
