- The navy's Hydrography and Navigation Directorate issued Aviso Especial N.°35-26 on Tuesday, warning of light anomalous waves along the Peruvian coast from Wednesday, September 9 through Sunday, September 13.
- The notice gives a staggered timetable by sector with the north and central coast affected first on Sept. 9 and the southern coast seeing onset from the afternoon of Sept. 11.
- Authorities say southwest‑facing open or semi‑open beaches are most vulnerable and that light intensity waves can still threaten small vessels, coastal infrastructure and people on exposed beaches.
- The National Institute of Civil Defense advised suspending port and fishing activities, securing or bringing small craft ashore, and avoiding sports, recreation and camping on beaches during the period.
- The National Emergency Operations Center and local risk offices will continue monitoring and issuing updates, and no incidents or damage were reported in the initial notices.
