Overview
- Companies paid US$916.8 million in royalties from January to October 2025, down from US$990.9 million a year earlier, according to SNMPE.
- October payments totaled about US$84.7 million, 17.4% lower than a year earlier and 6.7% below September’s US$90.7 million.
- Gas remains the main source of fiscal flows, accounting for roughly 53% of accumulated royalties, with gas liquids at 30% and oil at 17%.
- In October, royalties were US$44.4 million from gas, US$24.7 million from gas liquids, and US$15.5 million from oil.
- SNMPE and SPH attribute the decline to falling output in mature oil fields, price volatility and operational constraints, and warn of tighter regional transfers without fresh investment.
