Peru Extends Mining Formalization Registry to 2026 Under Law 32537

The measure imposes short deadlines for regulatory changes, data verification, labor oversight.

Overview

  • Law No. 32537, published in El Peruano, extends the Reinfo regime until December 31, 2026 or until the Small-Scale and Artisanal Mining Law (MAPE) takes effect, whichever occurs first, modifying Article 6 of Legislative Decree 1293.
  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines must issue a supreme decree within 60 calendar days to adapt Reinfo’s regulation and set complementary provisions.
  • INEI, in coordination with Minem and Ingemmet, must run a National Census of small-scale and artisanal mining that starts within six months and concludes within twelve.
  • All Reinfo registrants have 120 days to report the real, georeferenced location of their operations through the Ventanilla Única.
  • Regional governments must transfer all Reinfo documentation to Minem within 60 days, and Sunafil has 60 days to establish measures to verify workers are on payroll.
