Peru Expands Free Electronic ID Drives for Vulnerable Groups in December

Municipal pop-up campaigns use limited tickets plus specific paperwork to bring DNIe services closer to residents.

Overview

  • Comas held a same-day drive on December 5 at the Plaza de Armas on Av. España with about 50 slots and on-site photos for applicants.
  • Asia (Cañete) will run a two-day campaign on December 10–11 at the Local Multiusos in Anexo Santa Cruz, limited to Omaped-registered persons with disabilities and offering first registration, renewals, duplicates, data rectifications and DNIe issuance at no cost.
  • Villa El Salvador schedules a December 11 event at the Plaza de la Familia, with free DNIe for minors up to 17 accompanied by a parent and for people with disabilities presenting a valid CONADIS card.
  • Access requires documentation such as an expired DNI or birth certificate for first issuance, proof of address, CONADIS or Omaped credentials for disability benefits, and parental accompaniment for minors, with attention provided only while tickets last.
  • Outside the free campaigns, Reniec maintains standard duplicate procedures with published fees (S/33 for adults, S/16 for minors), accepts payments through channels including Yape, and provides in-person duplicate service at no cost for people with disabilities.
