Peru Denies Extra November Holidays as Argentina Confirms Four-Day Weekend Nov. 21–24

The updates emphasize the difference between nationwide feriados versus locally declared asuetos, curbing confusion over who gets time off.

Overview

  • Peru’s official calendar confirms the only national holiday in early November was Saturday, Nov. 1 (All Saints’ Day), with no nationwide days off on Nov. 3–4 or Nov. 5–7.
  • A legally recognized local asueto applies only to Apurímac (Abancay) on Monday, Nov. 3 under Law No. 15237, without national scope.
  • Peru’s Education Ministry says classes resume normally on Monday, Nov. 3 under the national academic schedule, subject to any regional education authority adjustments.
  • Argentina sets a four-day break from Friday, Nov. 21 to Monday, Nov. 24: Friday is a non-working tourism day at employers’ discretion, and Monday is the transferred National Sovereignty Day feriado with double pay if worked.
  • Several Argentine municipalities add their own November asuetos, including Nov. 10 (General San Martín, Bordenave), Nov. 11 (Casbas, Roberts, Stroeder, Leandro N. Alem) and Nov. 13 (Salliqueló, Arribeños).
