• RENIEC is executing the legally mandated cutoff today and will keep offices open until 11:59 p.m. to process last‑minute DNI updates and document pickups.
• The register counts 27,374,211 people, including 2,190,831 with expired IDs and roughly 100,000 adults who still appear with a minor’s DNI photo.
• Six high‑capacity sites in Lima—Cercado, Miraflores, San Juan de Miraflores, Independencia, Jesús María and San Borja—are operating to midnight, with additional extended‑hour offices across regions such as Arequipa, Piura, Cajamarca, Cusco, Iquitos and Puno.
• Accepted until the cutoff are address updates, name corrections, photo changes, renewals for expired IDs and first issuance of the DNIe 3.0; updates filed from October 15 will not change 2026 polling place assignments.
• RENIEC says it will deliver the initial roll to the JNE for verification by October 24, following the tribunal’s October 13 deadline for officeholders who intend to run in 2026 to resign.
