Peru Agro-Exports Jump 19.6% to $8.13 Billion Through August

Midagri says the current pace could lift 2025 shipments above $12 billion.

Overview

  • Non-traditional farm exports reached $7.34 billion through August, up 18.9% year over year, with fruits and vegetables at $4.13 billion growing 17.7%.
  • Avocados led with $1.24 billion, nearly matching all of 2024, followed by fresh grapes ($704 million), blueberries ($647 million), cacao beans ($580 million) and fresh mangoes ($234 million).
  • Traditional agricultural shipments totaled $795 million, driven 94% by unroasted coffee at $742 million and sugarcane molasses at $5.7 million.
  • August saw sharp monthly gains in several products, including fresh grapes (+41.3%), frozen mango (+182%), palmitos prepared or preserved (+539.6%) and blueberries (+12%).
  • The United States remained the top destination with about 30% of sales as the top ten markets together accounted for 76% of export value.
