The initiative seeks faster nationwide uptake of the chip‑enabled credential for secure online services.

Overview

  • RENIEC has stopped issuing blue and yellow IDs and now processes all registrations, renewals, duplicates and corrections exclusively in the DNIe 3.0 format.
  • First‑time issuance carries a promotional fee through December 31, 2025 of S/30 for adults and S/16 for minors, payable via Banco de la Nación, Multired agents or Págalo.pe.
  • A free campaign for vulnerable residents in Maynas, Loreto is scheduled for Friday, October 3 at the Casa de la Amistad, Av. Mariscal Cáceres 1720, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Chorrillos will host a free drive on Saturday, October 4 at Av. Guardia Civil 620, La Campiña, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., open to minors aged 0–17 and adults 60 and older.
  • The DNIe 3.0 includes a cryptographic chip storing personal data, fingerprints and digital certificates that enable legally valid electronic signatures and secure online procedures, with typical delivery in about 10–15 business days.
