Perth to Host 2025 Ashes Opener, Breaking 40-Year Gabba Tradition

Cricket Australia announces new schedule with Perth set to kick off the series, followed by a day-night test in Brisbane.

Cricket Australia has confirmed that the 2025-26 Ashes series will begin at Optus Stadium in Perth on November 21, 2025.
The Gabba in Brisbane, traditionally the series opener, will host a day-night test from December 4-8, 2025.
This marks the first time since 1982 that an Ashes series in Australia will not start at the Gabba.
Adelaide Oval will host its first daytime Ashes test since 2013, scheduled for December 17-21, 2025.
Melbourne and Sydney will maintain their traditional Boxing Day and New Year's test slots, respectively.
