Perth Doctor Faces New Charges Ahead of Manslaughter Court Date

Dr Rhys Bellinge, accused of causing a fatal high-speed crash in February, has been charged with additional driving offences from days prior to the incident.

  • Dr Rhys Bellinge remains in custody, charged with manslaughter and dangerous driving over the February 15 crash that killed Elizabeth Pearce and injured Uber driver Mohammad Usman.
  • Police allege Bellinge was driving at 130 km/h with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.183 at the time of the crash in Dalkeith.
  • Four new charges, including three counts of excessive speeding and one of dangerous driving, were filed for alleged offences on February 9, six days before the fatal crash.
  • The February 9 allegations include driving more than 45 km/h over the speed limit in Subiaco, Nedlands, and Dalkeith, and driving on the wrong side of the road in Kings Park.
  • Bellinge is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on June 5 as the case continues to draw attention to road safety and professional accountability.
