Overview

• Pennsylvania State Police say Douglas Snyder, 56, called 911 around 10:30 a.m. Monday to report a shooting at his Rye Township home.
• Troopers entered the 1400 block of New Valley Road residence and found Samantha Fields, 38, dead with gunshot wounds just inside the front door.
• Court documents quote Snyder first saying, "I guess I shot her by accident," before later telling investigators he "snapped" after she threw a book during an argument.
