Perez to Drive Ferrari SF-23 in Cadillac’s November Imola Test

The two-day run is an operations rehearsal under Ferrari-loaned TPC time.

Overview

  • Sergio Perez confirmed a two-day Testing of Previous Cars session at Imola in November using a 2023-spec Ferrari to gain miles and sharpen physical readiness for his 2026 return.
  • Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur said the Scuderia has loaned two TPC days, stressing the focus on garage setup, logistics, infrastructure and IT systems rather than car development.
  • One preparatory session is understood to have already taken place at Fiorano, with the Imola outing next to build team communication and procedures on a live track day.
  • Cadillac has been running race-weekend simulations across sites in Charlotte and Silverstone and plans a full sprint-weekend rehearsal during the Brazilian Grand Prix in November.
  • The new entrant will start 2026 as a Ferrari customer with Perez and Valtteri Bottas, with Mercedes supportive of Bottas’s early involvement, before official testing of Cadillac’s own car begins in January and GM targets a works power unit around 2029.
