Perdue Recalls Over 167,000 Pounds of Chicken Due to Metal Contamination

USDA urges consumers to discard or return affected products after multiple complaints of metal wire found in chicken nuggets and tenders.

Recalled products include Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets, Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders, and Butcherbox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets.
The recall affects items produced on March 23, 2024, with a 'Best If Used By' date of March 23, 2025.
Consumers are advised not to consume the products and to either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase.
Perdue initiated the recall voluntarily after discovering thin metal wires in the products during the manufacturing process.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported, but consumers with concerns should contact a healthcare provider.
