New Adaptation Promises Faithfulness to Books, Original Cast Members' Careers Highlighted

Percy Jackson and The Olympians is coming to Disney+ this week, continuing the franchise first adapted for the screen in 2010.
The original cast members of the 2010 film adaptation have gone on to establish their own big careers, with Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario among the most notable.
The new Disney+ series is expected to be a more faithful adaptation of the books, with author Rick Riordan heavily involved in the creative process.
The series is set to premiere with two episodes on December 20, with a total of eight episodes planned for the first season.
Despite no official confirmation of a second season, executive producer Jon Steinberg confirmed there have been discussions about moving forward.
