Overview

  • Pepsi Prebiotic Cola is confirmed as a permanent addition to Pepsi’s lineup in Original and Cherry Vanilla flavors, with each 12-ounce can containing 3 grams of prebiotic fiber, 5 grams of cane sugar, 30 calories and no artificial sweeteners.
  • The product will debut online on Black Friday 2025, followed by nationwide retail availability in early 2026.
  • The launch follows PepsiCo’s $1.95 billion acquisition of Poppi in March, with Poppi’s distribution network to be integrated into PepsiCo’s system starting in September.
  • The prebiotic soda segment has expanded from under $300 million in 2023 to over $820 million in 2025 and is forecast to surpass $2 billion by 2029.
  • PepsiCo is leaning on functional ingredients to counter a 2 percent drop in North American beverage volumes and vie with competitors such as Coca-Cola’s Simply Pop and emerging brands like Olipop.
