Pentagon Leaders Cancel Approved Drag Show at Nevada Air Force Base

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley forced the cancellation of a drag show at Nellis Air Force Base that had already been approved for Pride Month.
The Pentagon declared that such events are "not a suitable use" of federal funds and resources.
The drag show was meant to recognize the importance of LGBTQ+ service members and civilian personnel.
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and other Republicans have criticized drag shows and other LGBTQ events on military bases.
The Air Force has been directed to cancel or move such events off bases in the future.
