Watters' theory is based on a 2019 conference clip where a presenter, incorrectly identified as a Pentagon employee, mentioned Swift as a powerful influencer.
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh responded to the theory, saying, 'As for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off,' referencing one of Swift's hit songs.
Singh also used the opportunity to urge Congress to approve the Pentagon's supplemental budget request 'as Swift-ly as possible.'
Swift has not commented on the claims, but has been known for her political activism, including encouraging her fans to vote.
