Pennsylvania Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty for YouTube Videos

  • Anigar Monsee, a 28-year-old woman from Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals for torturing and killing animals live on YouTube to gain more followers.
  • Monsee's videos allegedly showed her mutilating a live chicken, pigeon, rabbit and frogs, soliciting more likes and followers from her 20,000 subscribers as she did so.
  • Monsee's YouTube channel has been terminated for violating the platform's community guidelines against violent or abusive content towards animals.
  • The investigation into Monsee's activities started with an email tip from the animal rights group People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
  • Monsee is expected in court for a preliminary hearing on February 5.
