• Board of Game Commissioners voted unanimously on July 28 to add ten Sundays to the three previously approved, creating a run from Sept. 14 through Dec. 7, 2025.
• Gov. Josh Shapiro signed House Bill 1431 into law on July 9, ending the long-standing prohibition on Sunday hunting for most game.
• Executive Director Steve Smith has been directed to amend the 2025-26 seasons and bag limits through an executive order to implement the new Sundays.
• Federal migratory bird regulations prevent the inclusion of waterfowl seasons on Sundays, affecting an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 hunters.
• Land access decisions for the additional Sundays will be at the discretion of private landowners and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
