Penguins Sign Marc-Andre Fleury to PTO for One-Night Farewell Appearance

Overview

  • Fleury, 40, will practice with Pittsburgh on Sept. 26 and play parts of the Sept. 27 preseason game against the Blue Jackets at PPG Paints Arena.
  • Team president and GM Kyle Dubas called the reunion a “full-circle” moment and emphasized the celebration of Fleury’s career over a competitive return.
  • The move follows Fleury’s retirement last spring after 21 NHL seasons with Pittsburgh, Vegas, Chicago and Minnesota.
  • Fleury is a three-time Stanley Cup winner with the Penguins and holds franchise records for games (691), wins (375) and shutouts (44).
