Pemex Cuts August Crude Exports to 500,000 b/d as It Shifts to Domestic Refining

The state oil firm is prioritizing domestic supply to curb fuel imports.

  • Installed refining capacity was revised down to 1.4 million b/d from 1.6 million as the Olmeca/Dos Bocas plant remains below its 340,000 b/d target.
  • Crude and condensates production held around 1.64 million b/d, 7.2% lower than a year earlier.
  • Imports of gasoline and diesel fell to 457,849 b/d, down 19% from July and 38% year on year, and Pemex projects 2026 crude exports at 393,100–487,900 b/d.
