Pehuajó Businessman Killed in Head-On Crash With Propane Truck on Route 5

  • The collision occurred around 10:00 on Tuesday at kilometer 373 of National Route 5 between Pehuajó and Francisco Madero.
  • Authorities identified the deceased as Sebastián Alberto Peña Cozzarin, 57, a local merchant and owner of the El Uno butcher shop.
  • The vehicles involved were a Nissan Frontier 4x4 and a Scania truck hauling propane for Liquigás, and the truck driver from Bahía Blanca was uninjured but in shock.
  • Two volunteer fire crews from Francisco Madero secured the site and awaited a specialist firm to handle the hazardous load, keeping the highway closed for more than eight hours.
  • UFI No. 8 of Pehuajó, led by prosecutor Pablo Teodoro Schestrom, opened an inquiry into the cause, and no determinations on fault or contributing factors have been released.
